BEEF STROGANOFF

BEEF STROGANOFF

1 lb. bonless round steak (or ground beef)
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 T. butter
1 can mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup water
1/2 t. paprika
rice or noodles, cooked (for bottom layer on plate)


Freeze meat to make slicing easy (about 1 hour). Slice meat into very thin strips.

Saute onion in butter until tender; set aside.  Add meat to same skillet and heat just until color changes. Add onion and remaining ingredients and heat through. 

Stir occasionally, cooking over low heat.

Makes 3 and 1/2 cups.

Serve over rice or noodles.
