DO-NOTHING CAKE



DO-NOTHING CAKE

From Lucy Reid (Grandma Stevenson)

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
1 large can (20 oz.) pineapple, undrained

Beat all together.  

Bake in a 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes (325 for glass dish).

Cake Topping:

In saucepan, mix: 
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup canned milk

Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Add: 
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts

Spread on top of cake.  Put under broiler until brown (watch carefully).
