OVERNIGHT LETTUCE SALAD

OVERNIGHT LETTUCE SALAD

1 head lettuce, shredded
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 onion chopped, if desired
1 pkg. frozen peas, unthawed

1 cup mayo or salad dressing
2 T. sugar
4 oz. grated cheese
8 slices bacon, fried & crumbled

Layer the first five ingredients in a pyrex or casserole.  Lettuce must be dry.  

Spread mayo on top of last layer. Sprinkle with sugar, then cheese and bacon. 

Cover with foil or casserole lid and chill overnight. 

(Onions are optional.)
